Runyon Kersteen Ouellette (RKO) is a full-service accounting firm providing accounting, auditing, consulting, and tax services. We are seeking an individual to join our South Portland office. This role will allow the individual to work independently but requires communication with audit field teams and management to facilitate timely preparation of audit reports. Individuals in this position should possess strong time management skills and be a motivated team player. They will need to work closely with other Department Assistants to ensure excellent client service, and to ensure all client and regulatory deadlines are properly met.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Statement Quality Assurance procedures, including Grammatical review; Mathematical review of formulas and tables in Excel and Word documents; checking consistency of information and data between various client reports, also checking the consistency of data from statements and schedules to notes; establish reporting templates using Excel and Word files.
- Preparation of federal Data Collection Form (SF-SAC) and ensure timely report submittal.
- Ensure timely audit report submission to outside agencies in accordance with Federal and State requirements.
- Preparation of PowerPoint presentations.
- Drafting proposals for submission to prospective clients.
- General administrative and clerical duties, including greeting clients in the office; answering and directing incoming phone calls; Receiving and distributing office mail; scan and file forms/reports.
- Other specialized projects.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required.
- Accounting or finance experience preferred.
- At least two years’ experience in an administrative role preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
Other:
- This is an in-office position based in South Portland, Maine.
- Option to work remotely on certain days is available but would need to be requested and approved on a case-by-case basis.
